Jaskirat Grewal, India’s only Dronacharya awardee in golf, has been appointed head coach of the newly-launched Roundglass Golf Academy at Chandigarh Golf Club. Widely regarded as the architect behind some of India’s biggest golfing successes, Grewal has mentored top players such as Shubhankar Sharma, Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, and Karandeep Kochhar.

Under Grewal’s leadership, the Academy has inducted its first batch of 15 promising golfers under the age of 19, including seven girls and eight boys. The cohort features top-ranked juniors such as Mannat Brar (India’s No. 1 Amateur Ladies and Junior ‘A’ Girls player), Guntas Kaur Sandhu (India’s No. 1 Junior ‘B’ Girls player), and rising stars Ojaswini Saraswat, Rehnoor Malik and Aryaman Rautela, who has already turned professional.

“Indian golf has immense untapped potential, and with the right structure and support, we can consistently produce world-class players,” he said. “At Roundglass Golf Academy, our goal is to create a high-performance ecosystem that nurtures talent from a young age, focusing not just on technical skills but on overall growth—physical, mental, and emotional.”

Supporting Grewal in this endeavour will be Col. Mohan Sharma (Head of Program) and Lt. Col. Rajeev Rautela (Head of Operations). Beyond technical coaching, the Academy will offer holistic development with support in nutrition, fitness, mental wellbeing, and tournament exposure.

Roundglass founder Gurpreet Singh said the move reflects the organisation’s commitment to nurturing golf in India.
